We are all saddened today by the news of the passing of Patricia
"Pat" Loomis this afternoon.
Condolenses go out to her family, friends and all those that knew her.
Loomis, a granddaughter of local pioneers E.C. and Clara Loomis, was born in June of 1920
and was raised in Arroyo Grande. The Society's library is named,
The Patricia Loomis History Library and Research Center in her honor
and in recognition of her many generous contributions.
Last month she was named "Historian of the Year" by the Society
and when the presentation concluded her 90th birthday was celebrated. She will be missed.

contributors and subscribers around the country, Gavin Arthur, grandson to President Chester Arthur, decided to have a conversation in
print about the pressing issues facing Americans during the Great Depression of the
1930s. The Dune Forum was edited and partially
written at Gavin Arthurs community
center, called Moy Mell, located in the Oceano Dunes.
